Class Descriptions
Each class will consist of a series of asanas (yoga postures), designed to work on all bodily systems. The classes will begin with breathing exercises to help increase lung capacity & respiratory function. We will follow with a series of warm-up exercises to increase blood circulation & lubricate the joints. We will proceed with postures that will release deep body tension, bring balance to the nervous system, stimulate internal organ function, strengthen and stretch the body. We will conclude the class resting in savasana, a relaxation posture used to allow the body to absorb the benefits of the practice, while promoting inner peace & mental calmness.
Gentle Yoga is ideal for anyone who enjoys a slower pace. Gentle yoga is also appropriate for anyone with physical limitations.
Hatha Yoga is a more traditional approach to yoga, incorporating active movement. This class is suitable for beginners, as well as more advanced students.
Introduction to Yoga is a progressive class. We start with the basics and gradually introduce new & more challenging postures.
Lunch Hour Yoga is a FREE class to the employees of the Carlsbad Corporate District.
